Hi, I'm Jennifer - the owner, dreamer, and vision behind Rockford Hats and Boutique.

Before we get into the fashion, here are three quick things you should know about me: I am a massive trivia buff with a wealth of beautifully useless knowledge (which has secured me a few trivia night wins!). I love to smile—you can basically call me "Buddy the Elf," minus his questionable love for candy corn. And yes, I am absolutely that person who stops to talk to every single dog I see.

 

As a little girl, I constantly dreamed of shopping at all the same places as my sisters, friends, family, and the "cool kids" in the teen magazines, but when I say I had zero curves until I graduated college, I mean ZERO curves.  This severely limited me in being able to shop at the same places as everyone I looked up to.  In a world where every teen girl is searching for a place to fit in, being unable to shop with everyone else only made me feel uncool, insecure, and completely awkward in my own skin.

 

Looking back, I realized that the friends who developed quicker and were blessed with curves were often fighting those exact same secret insecurities. I created Rockford Hats and Boutique with those teenage girls in mind—as well as the adult women who still face those same quiet doubts today.

 

Since I opened my boutique in August 2024, Rockford Hats and Boutique has always and will continue to be about rewriting the narrative for both teen girls and adult women alike. Finding pieces that ignite joy down to your core should be an empowering experience, completely detached from the size on a label.
